Swansea-based fire and security specialists, Plexus FS, have successfully completed a major upgrade to the fire alarm and emergency voice communication (EVC) systems at Swansea University’s Union House.
The project, delivered in partnership with Amberwell Engineering and John Weaver Contractors, has transformed the fourth floor of the building into new lecture space while ensuring the highest levels of fire safety for students, staff and visitors.
The Plexus FS team, led by James Watts, supplied and commissioned an additional 32 fire alarm devices alongside two new outstations on the EVC system, ensuring that the building’s occupants benefit from reliable, responsive safety measures in the event of an emergency.
The project formed part of a wider refurbishment programme, which involved converting office areas into new lecture rooms.
With the growth of Swansea University and its ongoing investment in facilities, fire safety has remained a top priority, and Plexus FS was proud to play its part in supporting this vision.
James Watts, Project Lead at Plexus FS, said, “We are very pleased to have been part of another Swansea University project. Safety is always at the forefront of our work, and we are proud to know that the systems we put in place will help protect students, staff and visitors. Working with Amberwell Engineering and John Weaver allowed us to deliver a smooth and professional installation, and we look forward to continuing this strong relationship.”
