A flagship new care home in Llanelli has been equipped with industry-leading fire safety, nurse call, CCTV, and access control systems thanks to Plexus FS.
The new four-storey, 84-bed Llwynhendy Care Home, owned and operated by Padda Care, was finished in June 2025, and the development represents one of the region’s most advanced care facilities.
Working through Williams Electrical and main contractor Stirling, the Plexus FS team designed and installed a comprehensive package of life-safety and security systems that included:
Fire Alarm System: A full L1 Hotchiki detection system with an Advanced panel, featuring more than 150 devices and sensors, supported by repeaters across the building.
CCTV: More than 60 Hikvision cameras installed internally and externally, including wide-angle and ColourVu technology for full-colour recording in low-light conditions.
Access Control: A fob-based Hikvision system covering 35 doors, integrated with CCTV to restrict unauthorised movement. The system includes lift access control, ensuring patients cannot travel between floors without staff present, and intercom facilities for reception.
Nurse Call System: A 213-point call system providing direct communication from every bedroom and communal area, designed to keep residents safe and supported at all times.
The complexity of the system, due to its size and integration requirements, demanded meticulous planning, testing, and commissioning.
